METS Travel & Tours, established in 1962, is the most experienced travel organization in Suriname.

The purpose of the METS is the development of sustainable tourism in Suriname and the offering of travel arrangements to people seeking a high quality unique travel experience.

In order to achieve that goal the METS applies the following criteria for all her activities :

With three resorts in the interior and one in the coastal area (Colakreek) the METS offers a personal service and satisfies the requirements of individual travelers and small groups looking for a unique travel experience. Next to unique excursions to the interior METS offers all-inclusive hotel, travel and other arrangements for vacationers as well as business people wishing to visit Suriname.

• METS is specialized in tours to the Maroon and Amerindian living areas (the habitants of the interior), in the Amazon rain forest and manages there vacation resorts. The METS tours combine the experience of the rain forest with the authentic cultures of the interior habitants. Accommodation consists of vacation bungalows built in the traditional style of the local inhabitants, decorated with wood carving and a wooden roof.
• For the more active and adventurous travelers the METS offers jungle tours while made to measure tours are offered to protected sanctuaries for bird watchers and the viewing of sea turtles laying on the beaches.
• The newest tours are trips to the beautiful savanna areas close to the international airport of Zanderij with accommodations in the comfortable bungalows of the Cola Kreek recreational park.
